Sambusi Factory LLC is a small artisan food producer of authentic East African recipes, which date back several centuries. What started out as small staff meeting refreshment at Catholic Social Service of Phoenix quickly grew into delicious alternative for greasy, salty or sugar loaded snacks. One of the agency's program had a custom of having refreshments during staff meetings and employees took turns providing refreshments. Every time Sambusa was provided it was not enough for the small staff. The enticing Sambusa flavor gained recognition throughout the agency. Every time that the agency had guests or cultural presentations the delicious treat was first to impress our audience. Later, sambusa became very popular and many started requesting if there was a way to enjoy it at home. This inspired us, to make Sambusa available in the market. Pre-packaged Sambusa became our American Dream. This concept is an innovative model worldwide. Sambusa has never before been prepackaged in Somalia or elsewhere. We began to test the product in the market and determined that there is a genuine need for an authentic pre-prepared Sambusa.

 

In August 2007, the venture was incorporated in Phoenix, Arizona as a limited liability company. Sambusi Factory is the first producer of refrigerated natural and fresh East African on-the-go gourmet food in North America. Our product is sold under our company's own brand name "Brava Favorites" primarily through local ethnic food stores and independent channels.
